The Neptune Society has named a new Service Manager for their Detroit location. James “Jim” L. Rea, a Detroit native, joined the company in January and now serves as the Service Manager of the Detroit office.
Rea started working in the funeral industry while he was a student of the Mortuary Science Program at Wayne State University. He has been a licensed funeral director in Michigan for 40 years, and has served families in the Detroit area for most of his career.
Rea mentioned two things he brings to Neptune Society: a personal touch and his relationships with the local community.
He said, “The Neptune Society is uniquely posed to meet each family where they are – either through preplanning or at the time of need. I am able to meet with each family personally and walk with them from the beginning to the end. I’m fortunate to know many of the people we serve personally. I’ve lived and worked in the area my whole life.”
Neptune Society is the largest provider of affordable cremation services in the nation. Rea’s personal commitment is to ensure that “affordable doesn’t mean less professional.”
“It’s about creating an environment where individuals are treated with respect and dignity during a very difficult time in their lives. That’s a given. It’s not based on how much you spend,” Rea said.
Cremation is quickly becoming America’s preferred choice for final services. As prices continue to rise for a traditional funeral and burial in Detroit, families are realizing that cremation offers a more affordable option. Cremation provides the same level of quality care and respect, is gentle on the environment, and is easier to personalize than burial. According to the Cremation Association of North America, it is estimated that approximately 50.6% of Americans will be choosing cremation for their final services by 2018. Rea and his team at the Neptune Society of Detroit, MI work to provide quality care and service to all families during their time of need.
Military honors are also available to service men and women who choose cremation over burial. The Neptune Society works to inform every veteran and veteran family of these benefits and their eligibility.
A free, fact-filled Answer Booklet about cremations in Detroit and across the nation is available that provides information about service options, planning in advance, sharing one’s wishes with family, and much more.
