Our Team
Funeral Director and Service Manager
Lukas Kulhanek was born and raised in central Washington in the small town of Wenatchee – the Apple Capital of the world. He has a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies and Multicultural Hispanic Studies from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. After college, he moved to Spokane and started his professional career serving others in ministry. He was a youth minister and camp director for five years and operated a small business tutoring high school students in Spanish. Lukas was a Rotary Cultural Exchange Student in Peru for a year, lived with family in the Czech Republic, and studied in Argentina. He started working with the Neptune Society as a funeral director intern and quickly learned that he was called to live this life of service. He enjoys working with and serving families at their time of need.
Funeral Director
Travis Hartzell has been a funeral director and embalmer for over 30 years. He received a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Weber State University in Ogden, UT. He then attended the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in Dallas, where he earned his degree in Mortuary Science and Funeral Directing. Travis is licensed in Washington and Utah.
Office Coordinator
Darlene Diamond was born and raised in upstate New York. She spent over 21 years in Joliet, IL, working in healthcare as a medical biller. After years of living with cold winters and humid summers, she and her husband decided it was time for a change, moving across the country to start a new adventure in the Seattle area. Darlene joined the Neptune Society in October 2017 as an office coordinator and enjoys helping others have peace of mind – she wants Neptune Society members and their families to know that we will be able to make the hardest day of their lives a bit easier when their loved one passes.

Katie Wilcox was born in Peru, IND, and spent her childhood in Misawa, Japan before moving to Spokane in 1997. Before beginning a career in funeral services in June 2020, Katie spent 10 years as a massage therapist and designed mobile apps. She graduated from Whitworth University with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and is pleased to have found a career path that will allow her to serve others.
